You Are Your Life

Your purpose in life is to tell a story.  You create the story with every decision you make every second of every day starting with what thoughts you choose to how you choose to feel about them.

Every interaction with every other soul is how you tell that story from the expression you put on your face to what you say with your eyes to the words you let pass your lips.

How your story will play out is entirely dependant on what you choose to do with those thoughts, feelings and interactions.  The life you experience is the life you perceive, not the life that was given to you.

The biggest mistake humans make is failing to understand that nothing happens to you.  You happen.  You are the creator of your life.  YOU ARE YOUR LIFE.

If you are unhappy make great efforts to change the way you perceive your life.  You have the power to change everything.  You can at all times do anything you want to do.  Understand this, learn from the bad decisions and start making the right ones in the knowledge that they will shape everything that comes after.

  1. I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact, this is very similar to the book I’m in the process of writing. Most people don’t understand that the thoughts they are having at this exact moment, and the actions they are partaking in, in this exact moment are creating their tomorrows. Very beautifully written.

    • Looks like an interesting read; whether or not I agree is another story! Your perception of yourself (and everything) is something that you create – however you came to perceive (that has been my experience in this life). Thanks for reading.

  2. It’s true, we are responsible and our actions (including thoughts) have consequences. However, people can’t simply think their way into this way of living their lives. They need to engage their emotions and imaginations too. Being prepared to look at yourself deeply and honestly, but with kindness and not judging is the only way to change. And most of us need a helping to live more positively. This could take the form of therapy/counselling, or simply developing friendships with other people who are working towards the same goal. We need to have quiet time to reflect; and also to congratulate ourselves in the moments when we succeed. I think having a myth is also important for inspiration, for example, having a hero such as Frodo from The Hobbit who begins as the little man, but doggedly follows his path to success.
